Our history and culture
Cabelcon was founded in 1983 by Ingolf Jacobsen, who sought to simplify and enhance the installation of cable TV networks. Within less than a year, the company captured 80% of the Danish market, and shortly thereafter, the products were exported to 22 countries. Cabelcon grew rapidly and became one of the world’s largest manufacturers of connectors for cable TV by 1993.
Innovation has always been at the heart of our development. In 1989, we introduced the first two-piece hardline connectors with a mechanical stop – a technological breakthrough that set the industry standard. Our commitment to quality has lead to the fact that our products have consistently surpassed industry standards from the start and continue to meet the demands of today.
Over the years, Cabelcon has overcome economic crises, restructurings, and ownership changes, all while developing groundbreaking solutions like TrueLock™, TrueSplit™, and Wireless DoubleClick. Our ability to adapt has ensured that we remain a leading player in the connector industry, now as part of the Amphenol Corporation.
